START A GREEN BUSINESS - Ori Sivan, co-founder and owner of Greenmaker (the Midwest's largest green building supply company) will give a mini lecture about the basics of starting a green business - at the Ravinia Train Station.
SIERRA CLUB - Jack Darin lectures on the bigger picture as well as Illinois' Role in the Global Warming Debate - Train Station.
MAY T. WATTS PARK TOURS - Students of Ravinia School and (PD personnel) of the Park District will give tours of May T. Watts Park, identifying native plants and trees and explaining how the park is currently maintained.
CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN - Pati Vitt lectures on the use of native plants for sustainable gardening.
THE QUINTIN MARX BAND - performs on stage.

JUNIOR PRE-FESTIVAL BIKE RIDE starts at intersection of Green Bay Trail and Beech Avenue at 10:40 am. This ride is only . 5 mile, allowing smaller children to experience the 11:00 arrival and "Festival Welcome" along with the regular group starting from the Highland Park Train Station. (There is no set age requirement for this ride - use parental discretion)
GREEN ARCHITECTURE - Award winning architect, Richard Becker of Becker Architects presents the fundamentals of green residential design at Ravinia Train Station.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE PROJECT will take place starting at 9:00am at Carrol F. Snyder Park located 1/2 block north of Roger Williams Ave. on Pleasant Avenue. The Park District will lead a clean up and garlic mustard pull in one of our city's loveliest ravine woodland parks. (Woodland just east of playground.) Project will wrap up by 10:15 to 10:30 for those also wanting to participate in the pre-festival bike ride.
